On price

Every price is published below and it is the same price for everyone. Nothing is quoted on arrival, and nothing changes because of where you are from.

The stylist

Khun Nuch has been doing this for more than thirty years.

She owns the salon and she is the principal stylist. One or two people work at a time, so there is no chance of being handed to whoever is free — if you book, you get her.

Most of her regulars are foreign, and most of them arrived by walking past. She reads hair rather than following a menu: the same request produces a different answer on Caucasian hair, on Thai hair, on hair that has been straightened three times before. That judgement is the thing you are paying for, and it is the reason the chemistry she keeps on the shelf is Japanese.

She will tell you when a service is wrong for your hair. That conversation happens before anything is mixed.

Services and prices

Every price published, none of them hedged.

Prices are placeholders until the final list is confirmed. Shown in Thai baht. Durations are the time you are actually in the chair — long or dense hair takes more of both product and time, which the estimate below accounts for.

Work

Before, and four hours later.

Before Photograph in post-production. Same crop and light as the after frame.
After Crystallizing Straight, shoulder-length hair, four hours in the chair.

Drag, or focus the slider and use the arrow keys. More pairs are added as the shoot completes.

Sold to take home

The retail shelf, priced.

Sold in the salon only — there is no online ordering. Ask about anything here on LINE and it will be put aside. Professional back-bar stock is not sold; it appears further down as what the work is done with.

The Japanese method

Not a look. A shelf of systems, and a different way of using them.

A cheap straightening service relaxes the hair with a strong alkaline cream, irons it flat, and neutralises. It works on the first day and the damage arrives later, because the cuticle was opened further than it needed to be and never fully closed.

Shiseido's Crystallizing Straight runs at a lower pH and splits the process into stages, each mixed to the condition of the hair in front of it rather than to a single recipe. The bonds are reduced only as far as the shape requires, reformed under controlled heat, then sealed with a separate step. It takes three to four hours instead of ninety minutes. That is the whole difference, and it is why the result survives a rainy season.

The same logic runs through the colour and the treatments. Loretta by MottoBene at the basin, Schwarzkopf Igora Royal for colour, Keratin Water for hair that cannot take another straightening yet. Nothing on this shelf is bought on price.

These are professional back-bar products, used in the salon and not sold. The katakana on the shopfront is not decoration — it is the same word the products are labelled in.

Coralle, Natural Styling 0 and 1, and the numbered Igora Royal rack. None of this row is for sale.

Two rooms. The teal room at the front, the black and gold room behind it, the basin in the corner where the light comes through lace.

Getting here

Five to seven minutes from either station, then straight through the lobby.

Anti Hair Salon · Chan Issara Tower 1, ground floor · 942 Rama IV Road, Silom, Bangkok 10500. The building is directly opposite Chulalongkorn Hospital and the Thai Red Cross Society. Once you are in the lobby, the salon is on the ground floor — you do not need a lift.

MRT Blue Line — Si Lom station 5–7 min
  1. Leave Si Lom station by Exit 2, towards Lumphini Park and Rama IV Road.
  2. At street level, turn right and keep Lumphini Park on your left.
  3. Walk along Rama IV Road for about 400 metres. Chulalongkorn Hospital appears across the road on your left — that is the landmark to check against.
  4. Chan Issara Tower 1 is the tall building on your side of the road, set slightly back from the pavement. The ground-floor retail entrance faces Rama IV.
  5. Enter the lobby and stay on the ground floor. The salon is in the ground-floor retail row, with a katakana sign — アンティ.
BTS Silom Line — Sala Daeng station 6–8 min
  1. Leave Sala Daeng station by Exit 4, on the Silom Road side.
  2. Walk down to street level and head away from Silom Road towards Rama IV.
  3. Cross to Rama IV Road and turn left, with Chulalongkorn Hospital on the opposite side.

On foot from Silom or Sathorn 10–15 min

  2. Find Chulalongkorn Hospital. Chan Issara Tower 1 is directly opposite it.

  4. The ground-floor retail entrance faces Rama IV. Inside, stay on the ground floor.
Car, taxi, Grab or Bolt Drop-off
  1. Set the destination to Chan Issara Tower 1, Rama IV Road — not to the salon name, which drivers will not recognise.
  2. Say อาคารชาญอิสสระ ทาวเวอร์ 1 พระราม 4 ตรงข้ามโรงพยาบาลจุฬา if there is any confusion.
  3. Drop off at the tower's ground-floor entrance on Rama IV. Building parking is available; validate at the salon.
  4. Through the lobby, ground floor.

Station exit numbers and walking times are placeholders pending a walk-through. Landmark photographs drop into each step when the route shoot is done.

Questions

The six that get asked.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Every consultation is done in English if that is what you prefer, including what is possible for your hair and what it will cost. Japanese salon vocabulary and product names are also understood.

Do I need an appointment?

For a cut, often not. For colour, straightening or anything over two hours, yes — there are two chairs and one stylist at a time, so those hours are genuinely finite. LINE is the fastest way to ask.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes, and a good share of the regulars started that way. Message first if you are coming from any distance — a straightening in progress cannot be interrupted.

Do you work with Caucasian hair?

Regularly. Fine Northern European hair, thick curly hair and Asian hair each take a different formulation and a different processing time, which is exactly why the products are mixed per head rather than by recipe. Bring a photograph of anything you have had done before.

Do you take cards?

Cash, Visa, Mastercard and PromptPay. Placeholder — confirm before publishing.

How long does straightening take?

Three to four hours for Crystallizing Straight, depending on length and density. Keratin Water is about two. Book it as an afternoon rather than an errand, and eat first.

Reach the salon

Six ways in. One of them is answered fastest.

LINE first — there is no receptionist, so a ringing phone stops a service in progress. Every handle below is a placeholder until the accounts are confirmed.
